Berliner’s opinions about the 1st of May couldn’t be more diverse. Some of us will do everything to escape the city with all the noise, drunk people and it’s traffic chaos due to demonstrations. Others love that there is so much going on, ususally for free and they enjoy the sort of anarchistic vibe hanging over the town. Well, what’s left of it. It is not much cause you will find an equal amount of policemen on the streets of Kreuzberg as there are normal people. But at least there is music and party on every corner and they don’t take noise restrictions so serious this weekend. If you stay in town prepare yourself for countless parties all over Kreuzberg, in every yard, in every Dönerbude. There is practically no politics left whatsoever but a sort of Party anarchy. Find some party advices from escaping and ground holding Berliners in our guide below.
Over the 1st of May we almost forgot the Gallery Weekend which is a good reason to stay in town at least until Sunday. There are countless galleries open all weekend and there is a nice vibe in the typical gallery streets in Mitte and the newer, less posh ones in Neukölln.

Soso Bubbly / St. Georg at Ritter Butzke / Ritterstr./ 22.00 / Berlin
Lineup: Ozzy Brown, Boogie Dan, Stimulus
Not too sure if this was our most favourite era of Rap and RnB but this party is all about the bling bling era around Lil Wayne, 50 Cent and the like so make sure you wear some bling on either your teeth or around the neck dude.
5 Years Cee Cee Anniversary / Gewächshaus Botanischer Garten / Pankow / 22.00 / Berlin
Lineup: Sven Hausherr, Oliver Kann, Oh Snap
This anniversary is quite a fashionable thing so dress up and enjoy a sophisticated feeling, yet in the suburb of Pankow, but in a quite exciting surrounding it seems.
Lodown 100 Release Night / Chesters/ Glogauerstr. 2 / 13.00 / Berlin
The Lodown Release party takes place at Chesters, the club that recently had to deal with accusations of giving space to right winged party concepts. Maybe this is why the location’s name is not being mentioned, just the address, but, in fact, the exhibition takes place in the yard of Chesters and the party inside Chesters. We don’t understand what’s the deal though, but it seems although there is an official excuse by the owner, Chesters is not fully rehabilitated. To attend the party RSVP100@lodownmagazine.com.
Lockemüller im Exil / Vabrique / Ritterstr. 12-14 / 14.00 / Berlin
Lineup: Various Electronic Music djs
Last Year’s may event at Vabrique ahs been cancelled so we are hoping this time nothing comes in between. For whatever reason LockeMüller the place to be has a party at vabrique, the rather posh hidden restaurant in a yard of Ritterstr. There will be barbeque as well. We also bet that there is a party at Lockemüller (Spreewaldplatz) but it’a an up and down the streets looking for music anyway, this first of May.
So, honestly, just cruise around and have a look, there are is music at Core Text in Oranienstr for Hardcore and Punk lovers or you could check out Farbfernseher for Techno stuff or just walk down the street Skalitzer, take a look at Spreewaldplatz, to find a funny little party going. Enjoy, take care.
