The Berlin Art Prize is the only award of its kind in Berlin and is not connected to any institution. Initiated by four cultural producers and launched in 2013, it honors contemporary art from Berlin and publicly presents it to a wider audience. Unlike other awards, here the artist’s previous exhibition history, education and any recommendations are irrelevant. The artist is evaluated anonymously by a jury of five artists, critics and curators who only take the artistic work into consideration.
The AWAY Winter Edition welcomes two new faces: the Dutch house weapon Gerd, who has built a legendary reputation as a DJ, producer and label owner of 4lux, as well as Eric Cloutier, resident of the famous The Bunker parties in New York, are playing their long overdue debut sets for AWAY. Quality music all night long.
